5 MORE Anime Songs You Can Play on the Guitar šŸŽø (with videos + tabs)

If you’re an anime fan andĀ a guitarist, welcome back. šŸ˜„

This is a follow-up to my first ā€œ5 anime songs you can play on the guitarā€ post — same idea, same format: 5 iconic (or sneakily awesome) anime picks, with performance videos + tabsĀ so you can actually learn them instead of just thinking about learning them.

šŸ‘‰ Haven’t read the first one yet? This post is a continuation of my original article, ā€œ5 Fun Anime Songs You Can Play on the Guitar.ā€If you want even more beginner-friendly and nostalgic picks, you can check that one out here: https://www.ontarioguitarstudio.com/post/5-fun-anime-songs-you-can-play-on-the-guitar

1. ASUKA STRIKES! – Evangelion (Shiro Sagisu)

ASUKA STRIKES! is already a legit guitar trackĀ in the Evangelion soundtrack world — not just ā€œanime music that happens to work on guitar.ā€

On the official soundtrack credits, electric guitar is listedĀ to be performed by Fujimaru Yoshino.

Heavily inspired by country fingerpicking, this is actually a pretty good gateway into that kinda playing.

Difficulty: IntermediatešŸŽø Why it’s fun: It already wantsĀ to be played on guitar — country American twang!♬

2. A Day of the Town – Lupin the Third (Yuji Ohno / You & Explosion Band)

ā€œA Day of the Townā€ lives in that classy Lupin jazz universe — smooth, stylish, and full of groove. Depending on the arrangement/version you’re pulling from, it leans into that bossa sound.

Translation: it sits in that sweet spot where you can focus on clean chord comping, tight rhythm, and tasteful melody phrasingĀ without needing it to be some shred-fest. If you like the idea of sounding ā€œjazzyā€ without falling into theory quicksand, this tune tends to be a good vehicle.

This is an arrangement I did of it meant for duo guitar.

šŸ“ˆ Difficulty: Easy to IntermediateĀ (depending on your arrangement) šŸŽø Why it’s fun: Bossa/fusion feel + ā€œcool-guyā€ phrasing. It makes your rhythm playing sound grown.♬

3. God knows… – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (ENOZ / Aya Hirano)

This is maybe like the "Sweet Child of Mine" of the anime world.

"You play guitar? Well, can you play the intro to God Knows?"

ā€œGod knowsā€¦ā€ is from the cultural festival performance in the ā€œLive Aliveā€ episode, and it was released as part of the single ā€œThe Assortment of Haruhi Suzumiya.ā€

Guitar-wise, it lands in that satisfying zone of J-rock rhythm + melodic lead moments.

šŸ“ˆ Difficulty: Intermediate šŸŽø Why it’s fun: Rock rhythm + lead phrases that feel ā€œstage-ready.ā€ā™¬ Tabs:

4. čØ±å©šć£ćć‚…ć‚“ (Iinazukkyun) – Ranma 1/2 (ano)

This one is pure modern chaos (in a good way).

ano’s ć€ŒčØ±å©šć£ćć‚…ć‚“ć€Ā is the opening theme for the newer Ranma 1/2, and it’s got that bright, hyper, ā€œwhat is even happeningā€ energy that makes anime openings so fun.

On guitar, it’s a great pick if you want to practice tight rhythmic hits, clean muting, and that ā€œanime OPā€ sense of forward motion. It mightĀ not be the first thing you’d think of as a ā€œguitar song,ā€ which is exactly why it’s a fun addition to the list.

šŸ“ˆ Difficulty: Beginner to IntermediatešŸŽø Why it’s fun: Great rhythm workout — clean chops, timing, and groove.♬ Tabs: https://mymusic.st/ontarioguitarstudio/215038

5. For You – Fuuka (Fuuka Akitsuki CV: Lynn / The fallen moon)

If you want something that feels more ā€œemotional anime band song,ā€ ā€œFor Youā€ is a great pick.

This track hits that sweet spot where it sounds great on guitar even with a simpler arrangement — because the vibe does a lot of the heavy lifting. It works nicely as either:

  • a supportive rhythm partĀ (big ringing chords / arpeggios), or

  • a melody-forward arrangementĀ if you want it to feel like a featured piece.

šŸ“ˆ Difficulty: High beginner to Intermediate

šŸŽø Why it’s fun: It rewards dynamics and feel — it’s not just ā€œnotes,ā€ it’s music.♬
